Recently, a special crane left the factory hall of Erich Schäfer GmbH & Co. KG in Siegen. The crane, equipped with two 160 t/12.5 t trolleys, was planned and built by Schäfer. The colossus with a dead weight of 124 t was realized by the Feuersbach-based company in a period of 7 months, from planning to delivery and assembly. With such large parts, transport logistics are a focal point and the basis for smooth transportation, which is usually carried out at night.
The company, which has been active in the field of electrical engineering and crane construction for 60 years, specifically implements customer requirements for special systems of this kind, with the aim of providing special solutions.
The crane system is used by the end customer to transport large parts that are positioned with pinpoint accuracy before and after mechanical processing.
